What is Elbow Up?

Elbow Up is a newsletter, podcast, and community created by youth baseball coach and dad, Kevin Burke. It’s written for parents and coaches, with the intention of helping everyone get the most out of their youth baseball experience.

About Kevin

I’m Kevin Burke, and I’ve made all the mistakes!

On one hand, I’m just another youth baseball coach and parent like you. On the other, I’ve got a little experience in both.

I’ve coached youth baseball for 18 years (5 year olds through high school varsity).

I have an 19 year old that I coached and now coach my 10 year old.

My brother was a first round draft pick of the San Diego Padres in 2006 after signing with then number one ranked Vanderbilt University, and I had a front row seat to that entire process (and I taught him everything he knows 😜).

I’ve attended thousands of baseball games.

I’ve seen (and still see) the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I’d love to share it all with you, and together we can make youth baseball better!

What Readers Are Saying…

Just wanted to tell you that I really love your blog…such great insight, perspective, and information. We played against you in all-stars last year, and I couldn’t believe the difference of the level that your kids were playing at in comparison to everyone else…and now that I see and hear from the leadership they’re under, I can understand why. Thank you, and keep up the great work! - Josh

It’s totally okay if you’re not a baseball expert. In fact, most parents and youth coaches aren’t! But if you have the desire to spend time with your child and be a better coach or parent, join our community to help change the game.

Every post allows threaded comments for us to work together and continue the discussion!
